INFN CELEBRATED THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS IN SCIENCE 2023

On 11 February, INFN joined the celebrations for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, established in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly to promote full and equal participation of women and girls in science, education, training, employment, and decision-making. There have been many initiatives, events and meetings promoted and organized by INFN throughout Italy to talk about women and girls in science, which attracted the participation of hundreds of students. In addition to the campaign #WomenInScience carried out on institutional social media channels, from 8 to14 February, with the participation of INFN researchers. The events were well attended, reaching up to 800 people in presence at the various INFN sites and tens of thousands of users online, on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. In particular, the live Twitter Space organised in collaboration with CERN reached 1.131 listeners.
