130 young people from all over Italy, 12 visits to the laboratories of INFN and other research centres, particle physics and its many applications for the benefit of society and, above all, a great deal of passion for scientific research: these are the ingredients of the short film “Fuori dalla caverna” (Out of the Cave), shown for the first time on 5 October at Ferrara’s Sala Estense, during an event sponsored by the Ferrara City Council and organised by INFN in collaboration with the University of Ferrara. The event was enthusiastically attended by over 100 people and was the first of a series that, between the end of 2022 and 2023, will take the short film “Fuori dalla caverna” to many Italian cities, to tell the story of the scientific adventure of particle physics, its experiments and laboratories from a different perspective: the one captured by the fresh and passionate gaze of the young people who took part in the INFN project What Next? Young people telling the future.
